Michael Jordan Makes The Forbes ‘Billionaire List’
Basketball legend Michael Jordan has reached new heights, making it in Forbes list of billionaires in the world. Joining Michael Jordan in Forbes list of billionaires which was released on Monday are two other NBA owners.
Jordan, currently an owner of an NBA team, made to the list of billionaires thanks to his well timed investment in the Charlotte Hornets. The other two NBA owners who also made it to the list are Leslie Alexander, the owner of Huston Rockets NBA team, with a net worth of $1.6 billion and owner of the Chicago Bulls Jerry Reinsdorf who is worth $1.3 billion.
For Michael Jordan and Jerry Reinsdorf this is the first time that they are appearing on Forbes list of billionaires, as for Rockets owner, Leslie Alexander, this is the second time that he is appearing on the list after making an appearance back in 2007.
According to the magazine, Jordan, a hall of fame player with six championship rings, became a billionaire in June last year. In 2010 Jordan, 52, acquired majority stakes of the Hornets NBA team for $175 million. According to Forbes, Michael’s equity as an owner of the Hornets NBA team $416 million while his net worth outside the NBA team is $600 million.
Topping this year’s list of sport-related billionaires is the owner of NFL’s St. Louis Rams, Stanley Kroenke. He’s net worth of $6.3 billion sees him occupy position 225 in Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest individuals.
Forbes releases its annual list of wealthiest individuals in March of every year.
